A local Joint Information Center (JIC) is the best method for you and your partner agencies to get your messages out during a disaster or emergency. Being consistent and together when delivering information to the public and media is vital to having an effective risk communication response. However, rural communities face great challenges when trying to activate a JIC. Those challenges are addressed, and materials are provided in this section of the toolkit.
